Week 1: Get Sculpting

Introduction to the medium of Clay - building confidence in sculpting from life and manipulating clay in front of camera. Familiarisation with units, cameras, software and timing and spacing for stop-motion.

Week 2: It's Alive

Morph comes to life as you work through bespoke tasks designed to test and improve your stop motion skills. The ‘Shooting Blind’ task (without video assist) develops a core skill and one that the Aardman founders used in order to create work at speed.

Week 3: Sound and Comedy Task

Introducing pre-planning, adding and Audio guide, creating Live Action Reference (LAV) to add comedy to your week 3 task.

Week 4: Animated Short Planning and Shooting

Ideas development/simple storyboarding give way to shooting your final project. A 60-90 second sequence involving Morph and Chas - devised and animated by you.

Week 5: Animated Short Screening

Shooting completes, and your footage is reviewed/edited/rigs removed and final sound effects added before the Premiere in the Aardman Cinema at our Graduation event.
